Karol Radziszewski, Hiacynt
Karol Radziszewski Hiacynt, 2020 Oil on canvas · 130 × 100 cm

Radziszewski works with history that Poland would rather forget. Hyacinth names the 1980s police operation against gay men, and the painting turns that archive into something blunt, graphic and impossible to look away from. He is the central figure of queer art in Poland and a fixture in museums abroad.
